Commercial Development
The histogram presented below shows the distribution of perspectives on the critical issue of commercial development. This was one of the issues identified in the Vision Edina Think Tank workshop as being important to the future of Edina. The City has witnessed some success in developing key retail and commercial pockets along France Avenue. However, other development opportunities exist that require the development of a comprehensive strategy.

- The majority of respondents fall to the right of center on this question, indicating a desire for both additional commercial development and a variety of types.
- Support varies among age groups, with 10 to 20 year olds expressing more support for large-scale developments like Southdale Mall and 40-50 year-olds showing the strongest support for neighborhood commercial hubs.
- Most respondents support the development of more neighborhood-based amenities, including restaurants and parks.
