Education Policy
The histogram presented below shows the distribution of perspectives on the critical issue of education policy. This was one of the issues identified in the Vision Edina Think Tank workshop as being important to the future of Edina. The reputation and quality of Edina Public Schools is viewed as a critical community asset. Respondents expressed strong levels of support both for the maintenance of this quality as well as the introduction of new technologies and learning opportunities.
Vision Edina Education Policy
- While there is strong support for the maintenance of the quality of Edina Public Schools, there is no clear consensus among the respondents, with the majority of respondents open to some degree of change.
- Support for change is strongest among school-aged respondents (10 to 20 year-olds) whereas the call for quality is strongest among respondents of child-raising age (30 to 50).
- There is also a clear divide among genders with females being more supportive of new learning technologies and opportunities than their male counterparts.
